sweet! F1 cars from the 70's and 80's, and a 6 wheel tyrell too. what was the event?

  3. It was a combination of the Ferrari Challenge and the "Pre-Historics".
(Monterey Historics are this coming weekend)
I'll have more of the other cars up tomorrow(ish)

Very nice Jim. I see you are using a D300. Which lenses and what are your focus settings? Specifically Single area or dynamic AF? Number of focus points?
  5. Drool!

  6. Super shots! Thanks. I love Formula 1.

Slick tires! Shame the current cars can't run them . . .

    Nice work.
  8. Id like to know as well. I will be there next weekend for the historics.

    i will be there too!

    nice pics!
  10. Thanks for the kind words!
    That's a 300mm 2.8 AF-S with a TC14E converter.
Dynamic Area AF using 9 focus points.
Manual Exposure. (good ol' Sunny 16 Rule !)

I'll be at Laguna Fri-Sun. I'm not hard to miss, just look for a 6'7" guy.
Hope to meet some of you there!

  11. Those are fantastic captures! Thanks for sharing!

Simply Stunning. I have the D300, now all I need is the 300 f/2.8...... Oh, and talent to take shots like this.

Thanks for the insight on the auto-focus. I'd often wondered if the "Pros" used 51 or 9 in some of the tighter shots....
  13. awww man... I wish I was there!!! Fabulous pics!
