few questions

  1. hello all,

i was wondering if anyone could help me out with a couple questions i have.

what do you all believe is the best middle range lens for a d80. i mean like a Sigma APO 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG MACRO......

a mid-range (like 70-300 or something like that)
a good aperture range... around 4 or lower
    that would cost around $300-450

and what lens is there that is in this price range and has the lowest possible aperture???

kind of confusing... but thankyou for your help!!

The lens you're probabally looking for is the 70-300vr, however that might be slightly out of your price range. I don't know US prices but it costs $485 on Amazon.
  3. A used 70-300VR can probaly be had for $400-$425.

New from B&H $479. Good luck.
  4. I think this depends lot on what you want to shoot and your budget. To me mid range is something like a 28-70 and long lenses are up to about 300mm, but I don't shoot wildlife, mostly street and some macro.
  5. Another kudo to the Nikon 70-300VR, Nicely built, nicely sharp, easy to work with.... Save up a bit more and go for it...
