DSC_5077 by Indrek Aavisto, on Flickr

This was taken on Bunche Beach in Fort Myers.

I was using a Sigma 150 2.8 Macro lens on my D 7000. Since the creature was fast moving and the camera was hand held, I had to use a shutter speed of 1/250. I would have liked a faster speed but with f22 to increase depth of field, the ISO was already quite high.

Any suggestions for what I might have done differently would be appreciated.

Very nice, good job...!

From the info at your Flickr site it say's:

Settings: 1/1250 ƒ/7.1 ISO 125 150 mm

I would easily go to ISO 400 - 800 myself in good light...

Even if you gained a tiny bit of noise it's not bad noise with the D7k and easy to
clean up with something like NeatImage...

Thanks for the reply. I had been looking at the some original files on my hard drive and I must have quoted the setting from another image.

I agree that the D7000 handles high ISO quite well: certainly much better than the D80 that I had previously.
