Finally...a green heron (wow they are small!)

    Last two shots are very nice, the eye reflection is almost sharper than the real thing!

    Nice work, and nice environment shot.

  3. Ironically - some guy with his family spotted this guy about 4 feet away from me - but he flew farther away before I could get a shot - I was watching a ratty lookin female cardinal...

    as for lessons - um - I just point and shoot :)

  5. Nice. I know what you mean about the size. When one was first pointed ot to me I kept looking for something bigger and never did see it.
  6. yeah I'm used to Sandhills, and Great Egrets and Great Blue Herons - these are like small chickens hehe
  7. they might be small, but they have a lot of character! I sat and just watched one once and had a ball! That was the last time I went out without my Nikon!

    Nice shots Paul, and yes they are small, much smaller than the GBH.

    I like the first 2 ,, I like the mohawk look ,, like Angel said ,, these guys are characters to watch ,,, they can put on some poses for ya ... great captures
  10. Some are skittish and then they get brave and come close! Great shots.
