Since I do not own very long lenses, my Great Blue Heron photos from far were so so.

Last Friday, I was lucky to have a GBH close enough to have a blast.

I took a long walk at Cochran shoals state park but could not see anything worthy. So I was contemplating a trip to Chattahoochee Nature Center where they have some captive Eagles, Vultures and Owls..

Suddenly I spotted one loner out there:

I was very excited. I was carrying my D200 and 70-300VR. I took out my SB-800 and mounted it as well. The guy was not bothered, he was trying a thing or two:

Excellent series Sam...and the story that goes along with it really makes the pictures. That 70-300 is a very handy lens indeed.

Way to go Sam! I can tell you it will become addicting if you are not careful. I too really like the first one.

Andy,
You are correct. But I guess no HMO approved therapy or medicine is yet available for these addictions.

Thanks for looking anyway,
