finally shooting birds

Discussion in 'Birds' started by warren, Aug 7, 2008.

  1. Have not had a chance to shoot any birds over the last 3-4 weeks finally got a few hours to shoot today and made it to the wetlands in Viera. Must be rusty as I only had a few keepers. These are a few of the OK ones. cc's welcome.

Great captures, Warren. The second one - is it a baby heron?

    It's a wonderfully sharp Anhinga.

  5. I like these Warren.
It's hot as blazes here too (102)
Birds are hiding in the shade after 7:30AM

  6. Very nice series. I love No. 1 the most for some reason I can't figure out. The background should be distracting with all those stalks, but it seems that the blur/bokeh of the green and yellow provides a perfect backdrop with some interesting pattern to contrast with the greyish subject. Very nice.

  7. Beautiful Warren! Love the first shot.

  8. Thanks Gary.

Thanks Tim. It's an anhinga portrait.

    Thanks.

Thanks Fred. It is a challenge shooting in the harsh light.

Wonderful as usual, Warren. It has been a little slow at Viera. Hopefully things will pick up soon.

Warren, fabulous shots all! Beautiful Great Blue; those birds tend to look washed out but your bokeh here really makes the bird pop!

They look terrific to me, Warren. I should be so "rusty".

  16. You might be rusty but the camera/lens combo isn't. Sharp!
