Was dragged out to a flower/garden place this afternoon by my girlfriend so while she was shooting flowers I tried shooting some bugs with my 105VR and brand new D700. Pretty happy with the results for hand-held, but any constructive feedback is welcome! I'm starting to think I need to be using flash for hand-held macro in order to let me use smaller apertures. The high-iso capabilities on the D700 help, but most my shots today were at f/11 and ISO 1600-3200 to get reasonable shutter speeds.

    #1 Dragonfly @ f/11, 1/400s, ISO 400

    #2 Green Grasshopper @ f/11, 1/60s, ISO 1600

    #3 Eating Grasshopper @ f/8, 1/125s, ISO 2000

    Thanks for looking!
