    Hi Dianne,
    The Calgary Stampede (rodeo) runs for 9 days and the city of Calgary goes western for the duration of the event so there are many opportunities for this kind of photographs.
    Loads of fun and another 5 days to go for this event.
    We do have a lot of small town rodeos throughout the area all summer.

  7. They actually have an annual Pow Wow in Grand Prairie, which isn't really far to drive. I just haven't been able to make it yet! Who knows, maybe we'll make it this year somehow - or if I can find others to tag along with!

    Someday I will have the opportunity--my best opportunities to date have been at indoor Pow Wows, with ugly sodium/football lights!

    Lens = AFS II 300mm f2.8 + monopod
    Aperture = f5 (for the images in the original post)

    has been shot between f3.5 and f5

    Most images are full sensor images (un-cropped).
