Some friends and I teach beginning ballroom at the local YMCA on Friday nights. We introduce the students to a new dance each month, and February's subject is the Tango. We had 40 students show up for the first class. Here's two of the instructors demonstrating the basic step to the class. The men looked skeptical, but the ladies seem intrigued. Form is very important to the tango... posture and expression. You're not supposed to look at your partner, and you're not supposed to smile. We had to keep reminding them, because once they got into the tango postion, which is rather intimate, the guys had a tough time keeping a poker face. But after a while, some of them began to understand the gravity of the dance. It was a fun night, and I think most of the 40 attendees will be back next Friday. Based on the look on this young lady's face, I imagine she'll be one of them.
