First Outing with 300 2.8

    I think when I get used to the lack of zoom we will become lasting friends....

    yeah..... not having a zoom in your hands is weird to me, as well
    i'm really considering this lens as well

    Nice series of shots, and congrats on the 300 2.8.
    Not having an zoom will become less of an issue as you see the results when using this lens. When the light gets dim, then you will see this lens really perform, especially with the D3.

    I already notice the sharpness and colours out of the camera vastly different - and I will need to be very careful with any USM (these are close to over)

    D3, hmmm, don;t you start, Randy's already baiting me

    Judging from these excellent shots; you and the 300 f/2.8 are at the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

    I am convinced that once you buy a 300 f2.8 lens, you never want to be without one.

    Im glad the new prime is working out for you darren .... 300's and 400's are the way to go for sports.... cant wait to see more !
