First outing with Sigma 150-600 Sport

  1. First time I've seen this flighty little bird, an Australian Reed-warbler, in the open.

Still fine tuning the lens, and my shutter speed was too slow, but I'm pretty impressed with this lens to date.

    Nikon D7200, Sigma 150-600 Sport, f8, 1/250sec, (too slow) ISO1100 @6m

I liked the image quality but not holding the lens
  3. Thanks Randy.

I shoot off a CF tripod with a Wimberley Sidekick.

Very nice detail. Where were you in the zoom range, long end?

The balance when zooming was annoying to me so I sold mine for a 200-500 but the IQ of both lenses is very good

    Beautiful feather details !!(y)
  9. It looks like a good lens to me, good shots.

  10. Great shots! Super feather detail. It doesn't look like the S/S was too slow to me.
  11. super shots and it pairs well with the D7200 too.........
  12. Thanks gorec

Cheers 4XXXX. I lived in the Runaway Bay area for 20 years.

Thank you hotrodmodeler. The bird was turning in #2 so a higher shutter speed would have helped. And these birds are hyper-active too.

Cheers Darrell. 900mm FF equivalent and 24MP. A great match.
