This is my frst post of a photo here on Nikoncafe. I took this while on vacation a couple of weeks ago in the Outer Banks, NC. It was taken at the Corolla Lighthouse Park.

Pretty difficult to see much at this size.
Why not post a bigger image?
But even without the big image, it seems that there is much more going on in the water than the sky and it might have profited from a lower viewpoint.

Agree with the slightly larger size - but a really pretty photo!

    Thanks for larger size.

I would trade less sky for more water.

Its funny you guys are saying more water. Before I took this I was reading an article on landscape/sunset photos. The author said take 90% sky and 10% land/water. I think it was John Shaw who wrote the article. So I tried his advice.

I was intrigued by the colors of the sky turning into a nice cool blue overhead. Nothing a little cropping can't fix....

    I really appreaciate the feedback!

Nice pic, but I suggest you look up the rule of thirds. There is too much nothing in the sky.

Depends on where the interesting content and action is. In this particular case, 1/3 water, 1/3 clouds, 1/3 clear sky works pretty well, but there may be other interpretations as well.

  11. Really nice colors in this one. The only thing I would do different is add
something in the foreground, dock etc. The photo seems to top heavy.

colors are nice, but as others have said i think a bit of sky cropped out would make it pop
