First picture with Nikon 500mm 5.6 PF.

Not a bad lens considering the size & weight. Better then carrying the 600mm around with a tripod. The light as you can see was harsh but my BB came for a quick drink of water so I snapped a quick picture. Water drop on bottom of beak..

Will be taking some more sample shots this weekend and see how I like this lens.

Looks super sharp! And in this photo, f8 still gave you a creamy background. This is an excellent image!

I just waited 3 weeks.

Yes. I will keep both. The PF is great for hiking.
