Using Sigma 70-200 2.8 on my new D700 i got today in the mail.
These are a tad soft however.
Yes i thought so too. I think the Sigma produces soft images in the first place. And the setting on the camera is also on 0 for sharpening.
congrats on the camera....
can't wait to see more shots
now that you've spent the money for an amazing nikon body...
what's next on your "to purchase" list, in the way of GLASS?
not trying to make you spend MORE MONEY... but, that D700 DESERVES some first-quality lenses
Yeah LOL. Im looking into all nikon glass. 17-35, 24-70, 85 1.4.
But torn on what to get between 17-35 and 85 1.4 as the first lens. The 24-70 is really pricey right now and may op for the 28-70.
Greg, don't encourage the man!
Btw Yih, the first one is blurry because of camera shake (135mm focal distance, 1/60 shutter), the second one.. well i dunno, i've always found flowers tough because they move in the wind so easily. It looks like it is soft because of poor macro performance from the lens...
How close to the flower were you? Minimum focusing distance?
That shot of the flower was shot in DX argghhh and then cropped. I was about 5ft away 200mm. Didnt know how to use the AFC 3d metering and didnt know it went to DX.
Still playing with it. Only a day old.
I read a lot of people liking the sigma a lot on the FX body. So who knows. I can't wait to steal it tomorrow.
omg, i'm soooo jealous of that narrow narrow DOF.
