First time out w/Nikon 70-200 - Caribana Launch (Maybe NSFW)

Picked up my 70-200 on Monday and gave it a work out or rather gave myself a work out on Tuesday at the official launch of the 2008 Caribana Festival, more details on the festival at http://www.caribanafestival.com/

I love the IQ of this lens, though I still need much more time and practice with it to get consistently sharp images. It's the biggest and heaviest lens I've ever had so it was quite the work out running around under the sun and trying to get tack sharp images from fast moving subjects.

Hope you enjoy....

Everyone, thanks for all the positive comments. It was a lot of fun for me and obviously the performers and the audience. Sadly I'll be missing the big parade on the 2nd, I'm off to a wedding on the East Coast.

Nice job Sam!
I'm waiting for the big brown truck to bring me my 70-200 right now and those pictures are really whetting the appetite!

Nice shots. I'll have to check the link to see what it's all about.

I'm planning on getting this lens but not for about a year. I just got an 80-200 (non-AFS) a few months ago because the AF-S was too hard to get and too pricey. But as I do more freelance IT work, I'll be setting some aside for this lens. I just wanted the 80-200 for now to hold me until I can afford the newer stuff. I'll probably sell it to offeset the cost when it is time to buy.
