Wasn't sure which forum to post this in so I put it here.

We just returned from our first boating trip of the season. We spent a week on Prince William Sound. This is a couple of weeks earlier than we typically start the season. Still a lot of white stuff and brown foliage out there. But this season picked up where it left off last summer, clear and dry. Didn't shoot much but did get some cool video footage of a humpback whale feeding within a hundred feet or so of us. We were perched on the rocky shoreline watching it as it fed on masses of juvenile herring. Also one accomodating black bear.

1) The whale video can be seen here:

2) This black bear was still in its beautiful winter coat. It was grazing on the freshly sprouted green grass on the bank of a bay.

Such stunning scenery!
When the weather is like that there's no place any more beautiful, Mike.

Glad you enjoyed it, Karl. Very cool watching them so close up.
Beautiful!
Thanks for commenting, Walter.
Lovely set with the Bear as a huge bonus.
Thanks, Nigel. That particular area has a high population density of black bears.
looks like a gerat place......I'm turning green w envy
It is an awesome place, Randy. We also saw a mink swimming across about 200 yards of open water which was a first. Plenty of eagles too :D

Awesome place and images. Ranger tug? (I have a Grand Banks 32)
Yes, Andreas, we have one of the original R25 tugs. Large enough to spend some time on but small enough to trailer and my wife and I can easily launch/retrieve by by ourselves. Last summer we spent a total of 47 nights at anchor on 6-8 day trips.
