I can officially declare that Spring has arrived. While hiking on a section of the Appalachian Trail we had never visited we came across these specimens of Trout Lily in full bloom.

This was an out-and-back hike, and when we passed these plants in the cold early morning, there were no blossoms open. On the way back about 1 PM they were blooming in profusion. The temperature was about 42ºF on the first pass, and 62ºF on the second pass.

I like the first one better but both are very nice ....Lucky you to have spring weather already

Thanks. Yep, I know it looks nothing like Spring where you live yet. But, oh the wildflowers you will have in July!

We have crocuses peeping out . . .

Nicely done Jim!

Thanks, Nick. We have a few crocuses, too.

The first one is so pretty. No spring here yet.

Thanks, Terri.

We found these blossoms in a valley about 1000 feet lower than where we live. Spring is not that advanced here.
