Over the last few weeks, I've had a problem wherein my D3 refuses at times to display the picture on the rear display for more than about 2 seconds - it comes up but then blinks off. Last night it was refusing to display at all except with repeated presses. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing, or is it time for my new best friend to take a trip to Nikonland?

(I've applied the latest firmware updates, fwiw.)

LOL!! This happens to me frequently, as the vertical shutter on/off is turned pulling the D3 out of the bag.

    grip on or off
not leaning against any buttons.... at least i don't think so

as for the D3... have NOT had this issue

I was doing the same thing when I started using my D3. It had me worried for a bit.
