flash... problem?

Discussion in 'People' started by lr1811, Sep 13, 2005.

  1. While my two oldest boys were taking a bath tonight, I snapped this photo. I put on my Nikon Speedlight SB-800 flash and put my D70 on "P"rogram mode. I quickly took this photo and the flash basically popped and it seemed like light went everywhere. Can someone explain what I did? I actually like the results. What do you think?

  2. Shooting flash shots into a white bathtub takes some practice. You have blown highlights but then some people like the effect. Sort of a high key effect. Also the WB is off as well giving you these strange colors. Was that in auto as well? This type of shot is more than most auto programs can handle.

Hi Gordon, thanks for the info. This was all auto unless I mistakingly set something and didn't relaize it. This has happened once before and I thought my flash broke. I actually like the results this time. I played with the original a little bit (but not to much) in Photoshop. Again, thanks for the info!
