Fledging Redtails out of the nest

Discussion in 'Birds' started by PEPPER PETE, May 30, 2007.

  1. I've been watching some Redtail Hawk Fledgings for a few days now. They're just about to leave the nest and start a life on their own. Here is a few shots of them getting their teen days over. Thought I'd share my great find.

  2. very nice Pete... did you use your 600mm for these shots?

Great series Pete! I would dearly love to find a nest like this.
  4. Hi Paul, yes I did use the 600mm with a TC-17E. I wanted to get as close as I could. They were up in a very tall tree.
  5. Thank you Andy, I'm sure you're going to come across one some day. You live in a state that has alot of country and wild life.

  7. Thanks Gale, I hope to go out there to the nest sight today and see if they are still around or off to see the world.

Gotta dig being able to spot and capture these !!
  9. Hi Ben, I was out to see if they were still there yesterday and they were. I saw one of the parents bring them lunch but wasn't able to get a pic. They nest was covered by too many branches and leaves. If you live close to Thousand Oaks, and want to see them let me know and I'll be glad to show you the nest area.
