Out today wandering with new lens 24-120 VR VR VR :>)))

This my first Bee and this flower. I don't know the name. It is a vine.

first one is full image, out of box.

Second is croped. Both usual sharpen etc.

Critique always welcome. guess I will just add that to signature line. Tired of adding it each time :><((((
  2. Congrats on your new lens!

Gale, the vine looks like a wisteria. Boy, these are sharp! I liked the cropped version better.

I did a bee pic today too. It's that season! Hope it's okay with you to post mine in your thread. I used the Sigma 105mm EX DG.

Gale, nice picture. I haven't had the patience or the bee hasn't had the patience for both of us to get it right yet.

    Have you visited http://www.beautifulbugs.com/howto.htm.

He has some great suggestions for macro and near macro work. Mostly dealing with perspective and lighting.

    Thank you Virginia, Great job.

Thank you for nice words. I like both images of the bee and flower. Not into macro, but do like close ups.

I lean toward seeing the whole image. Shows the beautiful flower in in full view. Thank You for Flower ID :>)

I mind NOT that you posted. Glad you did, I enjoyed it.

What kind of flower is that.

This was a BIG BEE. I folowed him for a bit and several shots before I got him.

    Thanks to VR.

I have only been trying for close to 5 years.

Thank you for the kind compliment.

I liked the second crop too...and yes, I believe it is wisteria. We've got it all around here in north alabama. my grandmother used to call it "weeping wisteria" because it looks like purple tears falling off the vine.

Virginia, I love your shot as well...what kind of flower was that?

    Thank You Leigh,

Yes I like the cropped one as well best.

I just like to see what the whole flower looks like.

If The Bee had stayed just a tad longer, I would have moved in and gotten a closer view. But you know how that goes. :>)))
  8. Good shot Gale!! The cropped image is really nice!! :)  :)  :)
