Just got my vintage argus seventy-five and am messing around with TTV photography (through the viewfinder). Turns out to be a perfect use for my 28-105 macro lens. :)

    handheld and still practicing ...

thanks :)  just finished building my "contraption" today so once I get a feel for it, i'll hopefully be getting better with it all.

  4. new concept to me. Interesting idea

yup! i'm specifically using an Argus Seventy Five. My "contraption" consists of a mcdonalds iced coffee (XL) plastic cup with the bottom cut out. I then used masking tape to affix it to the top of the camera and then placed a couple of dark dress socks over it to block out light. This gives me the a guide for proper focusing distance with my 28-105, while removing any errant light.

    here's a flickr group:http://flickr.com/groups/throughtheviewfinder/

and a site dedicated as an "intro": http://www.russmorris.com/ttv/index.html

the effects could surely be done in PS, but there's something sorta fun by using this method.
