On a recent visit to our local botanical gardens (a wonderful place), I decided to give some time to my much neglected Nikkor 105mm f2.8 AIS micro. It is still a wonderful lens.

You actually have a number of old Nikon MF lenses Alex, that I know for a fact, love being mounted on the D700. This lovely image tells much of the story. These lenses may be old, but in their day they were highly prized for a simple reason. They perform beautifully. Quite a few of us are spending more and more time shooting manual focus, both because these lenses perform so well, but because it is such a pleasure to use them. In fact, I started a thread about Manual Focus Nikon Glass that you'll find in the Lens Lust forum. You might want to mount a few of the Nikon MF lenses listed in your kit and make a contribution to the ongoing conversation. We're having great fun!

I should use this lens some more. Gets less use than the Tamron 90 and the Sigma 150. I decided to keep it always in the car as part of my ready at all times kit. It's sturdy and useful.
