One of the features I was looking for when I upgraded from the D2h to the D2x was the ability to crop heavily on distant birds. This image is only about 15% or the original, and clearly I've gone beyond the limits for a clear, sharp image. But at least I've got a nice shot to remember a beautiful sight, and I could not have come close to this with the D2h.
Question for everyone with a calibrated monitor - Saving to JPEG in Capture automatically converts to sRGB. (Actually you have to set it to do this automatically.) But I also have a choice of embedding (not converting) Adobe RGB. Assuming your monitors are set to Adobe RGB, would this look better on your screen?
