Flyout - Thousands of Ducks

While on Blackpoint Drive we suddenly heard a roar of wingbeats from across one of the big ponds. It was a flyout of thousands of ducks, most seemed to be Northern Pintails:

The shots above were at 340mm, I zoomed out to 120mm to try to capture more of the flock, but still only got a small part of them:

I took this photo and divided it into 100 blocks and counted a few of the blocks, averaged 13 ducks per block so I would guess there are about 1300 ducks in this photo:

I would guess the whole flock to be 5000 to 10,000 or more!
