focus question please

Nikon D810 and Nikon 24-70mm f2.8G lens. I know fine tune is for back front focus but that is not the issue, To get a reasonable, or should I say best, sharpeness across the lens mm range I have had to set the fine tune scale to +10. I am thinking this is a poor lens copy ,am I correct. I have had this lens for some years so can they go out of focus after a time? and if so can it be corrected

My other lenses such as the 70-200 mm f2.8mm are more or less spot on +/- zero on the scale so it is not the camera.

Thanks for looking and any repies welcome as I am considering getting the tamron G2 version as a replacement

I had a lens (with tc) that I adjusted to +8. I don't think you have a problem if the +10 consistently gives you sharp focus.

Steve Perry said not to be concerned if you even needed to adjust to + or - 15....or even 20! The adjustments are in very, very small steps.

Fine tuning has nothing to do with BBF. Shutter button or BBF: Fine tuning is the same.
