I don't recall his name, but this skier had a remarkably focused facial expression throughout his slalom runs. Clearly a determined competitor who was an excellent skier.

Thanks, Mike. It could be the shorts. I got lucky here with flat, cloudy lighting on the first shot and then some dramatic lighting as the sun was going down on the last two.

these are as good as they can be Mitch, good choice of aperture and SS and wow that florida sun, 1/8000 at ISO 200
and that lens is ridiculously great, I miss mine (Bobby shoots it now)

Thanks, Randy. I always enjoy shooting that lens. It worked great on the judge's tower. Sitting with a monopod I was able to easily swivel around quickly to follow the skier along the parabolic path. The light was quite variable with some clouds so I had to keep a watch on my settings to avoid blowing highlights. Still had a few shots at 1/8000, but who wants to stop that lens down?

Excellent set of some quality skiing. This guy throws tons of water and you caught it perfectly. That body/lens is fun to shoot.
