Found a D200

I didn't know it, but I was looking for a D200. :biggrin: I wandered into the local camera shop looking for a Stofen diffuser, when... :tongue:

San Jose Camera (they have a web site) has two more D200+18-70 kits they are selling for 1999. Nice enough camera store. I bought my D2X there as well. I believe they will do mail order.

The serial number of the one I got is 3024xxx and I do not appear to be able to cause the verticle banding by any of the prescribed methods.

Time to hand down my D50!

PS, what a fine machine. I am very happy with high ISO performance. And I finally have an 18-70 that focuses well.

Good for you Beezle. I've been very happy with my D200, sn 5000xxx, recieved Dec.21, 2005, here in Ontario, Canada.
I had a D70 with the 18-70 kit lens and it was excellent. I have several 13x19 prints with sharp clarity framed in my office. Since acquiring the D200, I bought the 17-55 f2.8 with it and sold the D70 kit.
No banding noted after screening over 100 shots at ISO400 taken at the recent Detroit Auto show.
