Found a Vivitar 5600 flash - now what?

Discussion in 'Studio Equipment and Lighting' started by LSUDVM, Jul 28, 2009.

  1. Going thru some of the items in my father's collection i come across a viv auto thyristor 5600 system flash that still works. The lcd works fine and it fires great. As i see it my options for remote triggering are :
    1) PWs
    2) RPs
    3) Cybersyncs
    4) Catus or other cheap ebay triggers

Any other options - maybe an optical slave module?

    Thanks for any info
  2. i would say go for the PWs. Yes they are expensive, but they are so worth it. 1600+ ft range, radio waves, and the most reliable things you could ever find. The Plus 2's in particular!

I would said Cybersync, because I use it, well could be personal experience.
