Found me a woodpecker hole!

I found a woodpecker condo in a dead palm tree not far from my house. There's a couple with one apartment for living quarters and two more holes for food storage. They come and go filling it with berries. nuts and occasionally bringing grubs (I suppose there may be chicks inside which I have not seen).

These were shot wit my 70-300 and a monopod. I have to come back with my tripod. The lens is soft at 300mm, so these will have to do until I can afford better glass.

Nice find, I like photographing woodpeckers. Quick and elusive, especially the pileated.
