Friday Night H.S football

Discussion in 'Sports Photography' started by mike mac, Sep 6, 2008.

  1. I shot Bishop Eustace H.S scrimmage last night. I used the D3 and the 300 2.8 with 1.4. I had the camera set on manual with auto ISO. ISO ranged from ISO 1000 to ISO 6400. The exif is in each shot for those that care to look. What a difference getting usable pictures over my D2X from last season. there is no noise reduction in these during post.
Nothing spectacular here but this setup allows you to go where no Nikon has gone before.

Very clean image quality Mike, it is amazing to see that advancements that Nikon has made. I think photography for the Nikon-faithful is going to be alot more fun.

  3. Just unreal how good these look at these high ISOs. Excellent pics Mike.

    Gosh Mike...
What I can say that hasn't been said. I just posted some of my Friday night football shots, and mine aren't even in the same league as yours.
My point is, I understand how tough it is to get great shots on Friday night, but you managed to do so.
    Really impressive!
Then again, your shots are always impressive.
    Good stuff!

  5. mike, these are excellent
    and..... as everyone has said....
how Nikon has helped folks like you showcase low-light sports is nothing short of miraculous

your skill and the D3.... a killer combo

Mike , Youre usual good stuff.

Isnt it just great that Nikon has given us such a nice tool to use in the D3.

  8. These are excellent Mike! I was reluctant to use Auto ISO, but I have been amazed at how well it works.

  9. Think of when you shot a D2H and now look at these shots. How far Nikon has come in only a few years. You of course add the talent to the mix, getting the most out of great gear.

  10. killer stuff as usual. Great Photographer = Great Pics, Thats it.
