All five were taken this afternoon in mid-day sun or shade in the woods. All were taken with the D200 and Sigma 50-150 with 1.4x TC attached. There were gobs of dragonflies out today, but I managed to get photos of only a few. This is the best I could do today. The cacti were blooming too. Until now, I had been unable to get ANY usable bird photos at this place, despite the fact that it is supposed to a bird sanctuary of sorts. After more than two years, lo and behold... a yellow-billed cuckoo perched into a tree just a few yards from the trail and let me squeeze off a few shots. This gray hairstreak butterfly tolerated several attempts on my part trying to use wireless flash with my new SB-800. Last, just for kicks and because I felt like I was on a roll, a violet. Comments appreciated! Thanks for looking!
