From out of no where

I was watching a small pond in the mountains of Maryland this weekend when I heard a HUGE splash. This guy was a pretty effective fisherman. The lighting was poor and I am surprised to catch focus with the d2x, 200-400 vr and tc1.4IIe

Good catch. We had several opportunities like this one during the Sanibel and Merritt shoots, and I think I got a couple much like this one. These guys are hard to get even in the best light. You did well on this one considering the awful lighting.
