I hadn't known there was to be a full moon Saturday night. We don't pay much attention to such things in June around here because it's hardly dark enough to notice. At any rate, I got up just before 5 and there it was about to set over the mountains across Kachemak Bay. I set the camera on two stacked tables being as the tripod was in my truck 50 yards away up a goat trail, and I was in my... well, you get the picture.

  2. Both shots are beautiful but the first is best, as Im sure you know.
The monochrome blues with the glowing moon make this a stunning image.
    Looks cold!

Thanks Doug, Chris, Gale, Tk and Randy. Yes, looks cold but it was 50f at the time; about average for that time of a June morning in this neck of the woods.

  8. I am glad you rolled out of bed early to get this shot. They are both excellent.

Beautiful, I also love the first one. wish I had this kind of view any where with in an hour from me would be great but I am sure there is disadvantages to the area as well. I mean for me, 50f in june is down right cold.

  11. Wonderful photos Bill, I especially like the ...sea otters detail

    Thanks, Gordon.

    Aren't we all?

We're used to the cool mornings. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks, Panos. Although I'd seen the sea otters the night before, I didn't know they were still there in the AM until I Downloaded the images.

  13. Good shots Bill. #1 for me.

We could double our recent average temps and still not meet your 100 plus of the last few days.

Thanks, Ron. I hear you folks in the Seattle area are headed for clear skies and temps in the 90's this week. Enjoy.

  17. Hey, thanks. Whats 90 + in the Seattle area, no big deal.

Send down some of your cooler air please...
