I will def do that...my plan is to leave on 10/10...not sure of much else as these trips (I do a few a yr) tend to be wondering and shooting all over. I will do the butterfly pavilion at UF and Viera and now Ft. De Soto. I'm looking forward to meeting you Wade

Randy, Mitch, Wade, could you include me in on a trip to DeSoto when it happens? I'm over here in Tampa and would love to meet all three of you (and always looking for warm bodies to meet up for sunrise shooting.) Jose might also, if his back is feeling better, and it might be time to get Greg hooked on birding, too.

because of a fb game in Gainesville I am now planning on shooting Ft Desoto Sat (10/11) morning early.
I'll then drive to Viera and shoot Viera Sun (10/12) morning.

Great shots, I like the Egrets.

  16. Sweet, I need to get over that way soon!

  17. I will be in the area in February. I know Ft Desoto and the cemetery in St Pete, but I would like to learn about other bird spots - like John Chestnut Park.

Poor Wade; we all highjacked his thread...

Wade, absolutely LOVE the sunrise shot and you nailed the daylights out of that oystercatcher. Beautiful skimmer, too. Looks like things are picking up at Ft Desoto!

Is the Reddish Egret still hanging in the tidal pool?

I'll mark down Oct 11 on my calender; it will take me that long to prepare myself mentally to get up out of bed that early!

who can show me the cemetery in St Pete next month ?
is this where the eagles are ?

  20. It is where many generations of my family are buried. The juvies have flown the coop but maybe around from time to time. I will scout out the area and see if the eagles are around just prior to your trip.......
