El Cajon held the first car cruise of the new year this past Wednesday, 6 April, a chilly, damp afternoon. It started off under cloudy skies, never really started to rain, but there were the occasional drops falling on the well polished cars. These photos taken with Rolleiflex Automat 3.5, 1939 model. Delta 3200 @800, D76 1:1.

NIce shots. Love the one of the Austin Healey 3000 - one of my favorite cars and one I would love to own before I get any older. The picture shows water droplets on the trunk lid and the top is down. What is that guy doing???

He was trying to decide if he should put the top up and it stopped sprinkling, so he wiped the car down and left the top down. It only dribbled for a few minutes. The weather was iffy, just a bit of that liquid California sunshine.

Good series. Nice work with the Rolleiflex.

Thank you. It was fun using the old camera. One person said it was appropriate to photograph antique cars with an antique camera. Shutter speeds are a bit off, but it is in really good condition for a 72 year old camera.

Thanks for sharing, Michael, really love the style they had in the 30's. No Cords?

NO Cords. I wish someone would bring one out, but not this week. Next week's theme is "Muscle Cars". It should be interesting. The weather should be better next week, no more liquid sunshine. Better weather will mean more cars and more people.
