GBH catching minnow

Got to the river a bit late this morning, so the light was already hot. When I saw this heron I almost ignored it - backlit in bright sun, a long stalk to get close, and the birds are not acclimated to people at this spot so they launch at the slightest disturbance. But I decided to take it as a challenge to compensate for the variables in front of me. I even brought my camera manual with me and did some reading between forward creeps. It was a good way to spend an hour!

200-400VR, ISO 200, f4, 1/800 except for the last one at 1/1000.

All that for a minnow. They are so funny.
Great series.. Love it when they go head first in splashing.
