Gentoo Penguins

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Pa, Jan 7, 2018.

  1. These birds were walking from their feeding grounds in the water to a rookery at least a mile away.

    Wow. Really cool shots.
  8. Every single one of these is just wonderful in its own way; to remove any of them would make the set less impressive.

These images are either the most difficult to accurately display level or the least important because it doesn't matter whether they're level. Probably the latter.

  10. Thanks, Rick.

    Thanks, Nick.

    Thanks, Louie.
    Thanks, Jim.

    Thanks, Darrell.

    Many thanks.

    Thanks, John.

Thanks, Mike. As you can see in #1, the horizon in the rest of them is not level. This was complicated by the fact that I made these from a recumbent position. In processing I decided not to worry about it.

    Thanks, Randy.
  11. As I type this I'm watching a PBS documentary on penguins of all varieties. They are remarkably interesting birds. I think I'm most impressed by the rockhoppers. Unfortunately, we saw none of those in Antarctica.
  12. When I mentioned the level horizon, I should have instead mentioned the accurate horizon, as that is what I meant.
  13. Yep. Same answer. ;)
  14. Jim, #2 is superb!! I'm really enjoying your photos from this adventure.

I love #2. One in focus with more trailing out of focus. Perfect.
  16. Thanks, Guys. I actually prefer #3 !
  17. Super shots Jim. What a thrill that must have been.
  18. What an amazing experience...

  19. Thanks, Jim and Glenn. Yes, it was quite an experience.
