Very interesting, indeed! And I'll bet it was tough to photograph and maintain separation among all the off white petals (?).

Very cool, Jim. I have never photographed these. The area I recently visited has a bog named Indian Pipe Bog.

Thanks for looking, Aaron. There must surely be some of these in a place named for them!

Wikipedia says they appear when there is rain after a dry spell. That accurately describes recent conditions here.
