Girls Softball - Lots of shots (11)

Discussion in 'Sports Photography' started by Peter G, Jul 17, 2007.

  1. I don't know about most, but I get caught up playing Dad and spectator and forget to shoot at a game. Then my kids hammer me with, "Where's my pics"  . Sheesh, no respect lol.

    #1 - A solid SS

    #2 - Softball a contact sport?

    #3 - Continuation

    #4 - Tag play

    #5 - Safe!

    #6 - Very good motion

    #7 - Slap bunting

    #8 - Running to 1B

But most of all, it's all about the faces and smiles

I can see why the kids bug you about the photos - great work.

    What lens are you using?
  3. Thanks for the kind words Bruce. Lens? Hmmm, ok I'll bite lol. Shooting the Mark III and 100-400
  4. Nice work. Love the action, especially the collisions!

These are very nice Peter, it sure looks as though your conditions were ideal and you handled to shooting opportunity well.

All superb..... #2 being my pick because I know how hard that can be to get.
  7. Outstanding shots Peter, the facial expressions and lighting inside the helmets are tough....well done!

It's not fair...I've been working hard to improve, then Peter and (several others) post shots of this quality. I think I'm getting better, then you guys raise the bar again!
Our softball season cranks up in August...I'm almost intimidated to post. I'll have to work hard to produce quality like you guys. But maybe that's not a bad thing.
I like them all, but "Safe" is my favorite.
    Really good stuff Peter!

  10. Excellent! That's all I have to say...
  11. Peter, those are JUST AWESOME DUDE! I hope your daughters are happy, for now, with the pictures from this game! I mean the facial expressions are great, the colors are perfect, focus is spot on, and your timing on the actions shots from #1-7 is just right. What else could I say but, keep shooting!
  12. Thanks Jeff. Number 3 is my duaghter too . Kinda had to tell her that collisions can be grounds for ejections. She was a little spooked lol.

Thanks Frank. The weather was superb, fun had by all, but the results fell short. Still lots of smiles though.

Thanks GBR. Yeah, I'm having trouble figuring this one out. I'm focusing on the base and anticipating action there. Focus on shots is hit and miss. Would love to hear what others are doing.

Thanks Chris. I've been really concentrating on exposing properly so you can see the faces. Get lucky sometimes

Don't sell yourself short Jeff. I've seen your shots and they are top shelf. Post away my friend.

Thanks Randy. Appreciate all the help and advice too
Thanks for the comments Anthony. Very much appreciated.

Thanks Steve. I very much appreciate the kind comments. The team really liked this set and lots of attaboys . My daughter even liekd them and she's always my toughest critic lol

I agree with Yoda...#1 is pretty cool as well.
  14. Yoda? Who started that anyways?

SS in pic# 1 has a cannon. No, I didn't say CANON

Ya know....every time I post a picture here Yoda piles on that I am using a Canon...he never even mentions it with your stuff....and you got a bigger cannon than I do.

    Yoda....What gives? :confused: :biggrin::confused:

Great job with the exposure. Shaded faces are giving me fits right now. These are spot on.
  19. Thanks Robert. Getting the faces right exposure wise has been something I've been really trying to nail.
