Shot the district relays this weekend, by description thought it was just going to be the running events but there they did have discus, shot, javelin, high/pole jump, etc. in addition to running.

1. Sun was in and out all morning

7. Finally, a baton transfer w/out the lead runner looking back (was amazed at how many girls still did this)

8. I was actually covering blue (left) the host HS (and our big rival) for the local weekly, and the girl on the left was supposed to be their 'hidden weapon' but our girl (right) smoked her in the anchor leg of the 4x100 here.

Chris,

Nice set. I like #9. The panning shot looks good.

I guess the girl in #1 didn't make it. Looks like her body brushed the bar.

Must be amazing shooting track outdoors! No iso 10800; no blue/green/orange color shifts; no 1/160 shutter speeds...

Really great set, Chris! You didn't even have to shoot the high jump from three feet away! :)

Well done, Chris.

I shot a similar relay format meet on Friday myself. The goofiest event was the shuttle-hurdles where one runner run the 100 hurdles while the next runner runs back to the starting line on a straight sprint in the adjacent lane (4 runners total). I had never seen that before.

Thanks Pete, that's actually what these hurdles were as well, I had never seen that race either.
