Gitzo tripod legs are too tight - now solved

I'm happy to report that the problem is now solved. I dug deeper into the back of the closet I searched yesterday and found another Gitzo box. :)

This was the correct box for the tripod in question; the box I found yesterday is for my older tripod. In the correct box I did find a plastic bag which included instructions, two Torx wrenches, and a tube of lubricant. Using the two wrenches to loosen the screws just slightly solved the problem. The legs now open with just the right amount of resistance.

Congrats Jim - the ability to repair Gitzo's has always been a nice thing about them. I still have a very heavy aluminum Gitzo from the early 70s and it's still perfect. A local camera store gave me new rubber about 20 years ago and they're still good.
