  4. Nice, Nute.

I'm surprised you gave up the 35/2; it's a winner and very compact.

thanks Jim ...it was too much competition for my sample of the 35-70 2.8 and 50 1.4. the size and it's close focusing abilities were/are a huge asset though,,a great lens no doubt but for dx (my current format) i prefer the sig 30 1.4:cool:

you know the D700 is in your future
just like it is for me

    get another 35/2
it is one of the bargains still out there

  7. Nute, you sold some great glass. I've done the same more times than I care to admit. Nice shots as always!

amen Frank ..the 700 is very much in my future. but with my current kit think i'm guna want something wider,,maybe that 28 f2 Ai-s, or sig 28 1.8. maybe a zoom, like the sig 15-30 or the t17-35. i don't wana commit too much doe on super long or super wide cuz i don't spend much time on on either end. i have a gut my 50 and 85 1.4's are guna get the lions share. i'm really excited that all my glass is guna get wider.

    my current FX lens kit
    50 1.4
    85 1.4
    t-90 2.8
    35-70 2.8
    80-200 2.8

thanks Gene ...i really enjoyed every one of those lenses and my now departed 180 as well. but, have NO regrets (well, kinda, maybe, lol). i wanted that 85 1.4 SOOOOOOOO bad i made the shuffle and glad i did! however, i'm a big advocate of -> Loving the One you're with:Love:

if a prime i'm thinkin wider and possibly faster. and if MF i'm thinkin wider will be easier to focus as well. ideally something between 24-28mm in 1.4. unfortunitly nothing exists there for nikon cept the 28 1.4. and NO way i would consider putting up the kind of doe they're bringing now days!

how do u like that 24? i'm utterly impressed with the 35 1.4 but again i prefer something wider. i'm open to MF on the wider end cuz it's easier to manually obtain critical focus faster on wider glass...course this is something i wouldn't consider for DX...;-)

  14. Loving the one you're with, lenses that is:biggrin:. The other is a given! What a great philosophy, I wish I could do that at least on a semi permanent basis. BTW, I seen your 180 for sale on FM about a week ago, it was still super clean. Tempting!

those r sweet, Tom...agree on the f-stops. just look at the 50 1.4's. none are as smooth as the cz 50 f2, imho.
