going to be in the Glouster Mass area.. Need some ideas on what to see .. going to do the whale watch and the Boston City thing.. would like some other ideas for the shore line..

    Thanks in advance
  2. hey Tim, that area is known as Cape Ann. Lots to see there, Gloucester is a working fishing port...and there's the famous fisherman's memorial downtown.

Good Harbor and Wingaersheek are two well known beaches in town (public) if you want to shoot there.

A little further up is Rockport, an artist's town. The famous Motif #1 is there.

Crane's Beach in Ipswich is a great beach, nearby is Castle Hill which is a beautiful mansion. Reservation land affords ample wildlife shooting.

Essex has world famous fried clams....

In a couple of weeks Revere Beach is going to have a sand sculpture festival...just north of Boston. A little further up the coast, Salem & Marblehead are nice coast towns...

What do you like/want to shoot? That might help narrow it down.

26 miles up from Gloucester is NEWBURYPORT (Ipswich is in between the two so if you decide to do Crane's beach you're already half way there) - it's a great town with a nice harbor, some local sculptures, old fashioned gas lights etc. The last week in July is "Yankee Homecoming" - http://www.yankeehomecoming.com/ - a whole week of events/parades/bands on the harbor/fireworks etc

And Plum Island (beautiful beach) is about 2 miles or so from Newburyport.

Can add more suggestions if you decide to head that way. Have fun!
