I was waiting for a hummingbird when this goldfinch landed close by. My ss was at 1/5000 and I am not adapt at quickly changing ss and iso so they came out quite noisy. I used topaz denoise on the bg to get rid of some noise. I tried it a bit more aggressively but did not like the result.

Nice images.
It is an amazing time to be a photographer!!
Noise is rarely an issue anymore. The sensors are better, the noise removal softwares are terrific!
Colors here look pretty good- at least for the web. The loss of dynamic range and color renditions are the main issues I still have with high iso's.

Thanks Klaus. It would have been better though if I could learn to quickly change to a lower ss.
Well Alan, I'm old school, coming from decades of analogue photography.
I always forget to change the ISO value and - to reset it after changing it... :) :wideyed:
Don't ask how many pictures were lost by this.

Kind regards
Klaus
