Wonderful birds Gordon.
We got woodpeckers here too, but not this kind.
And hummingbirds are totally strange here.

Well taken shots

Have a little catching up to do, missed a few postings. Have been taking photos mostly looking out the back patio door. Not up to a lot of running around yet.

Another hummingbird. K-1, DA*300, large crop.

A bit more productive week. All below taken with the K-1 DA*300 combo, all crops.

This little bird has started coming into the feeder. It's a Verdin. Insectivorous, also likes to grab small dried bits of sugar-water from hummingbird feeders.

I didn't get much of anything for week 46, so nothing posted.

Been rainy Tuesday, Wednesday, and today. Cool, wet, fall weather. Birds at the feeder, most shots are now looking like the ones already taken and posted. Both below taken with the K-1 and DA*300.

Male Gila Woodpecker took flight for the feeder just as I pressed the shutter button.

More of the same, except I felt good enough to get out with a camera one day.

Autumnal wetness. K-1, HD Pentax-D FA 28-105.

K-1, DA*300, a little too early for handhold due to forecast cloudiness the next few nights.

Picked up some lighting in an attempt to get better with tabletop/ product stuff. Still have a lot to learn and improve upon. All three with the K-1 and 28-105.

This old knife is an Al Mar SERE I picked up back in '89 or '90 IIRC. Been used a bit, but not abused. Needs some TLC to get some surface rust off the bolsters and some staining off of the blade. Since these are now semi-collectable items, if it is more than I can do with simple cleaning supplies, it will go to a bladesmith to keep me from causing damage. Or it will get used as a daily use knife again.

Great pictures of a wonderful knife, Gordon.
I like the dark wood of the handle a lot.

Kind regards

Thanks Klaus. The handle is actually micarta - shades of brown with a tint of green. I should have noted that. And I need to try and get an image that shows the colors better. Maybe this week in the 50 thread.

Didn't get out enough to grab any shots in addition to week 50, so here's a product-ish shot from the week. Z 6 and 50/1.8S.

Was able to wander with a camera today (woohoo!). Took out the X-H1 and 16-55/2.8 to get some shots of the mountains, snow and clouds. Made another rookie mistake today - while handling the camera (with gloves on) I moved the aperture ring and didn't notice until after getting back to the hut. So settings aren't where I wanted them.
