Got a telephoto for my D40

I was looking for a decent telephoto for my D40. Due to the much discussed limitations of the D40 (no AF motor), only lenses with built-in motors are possible. But AF-S lenses would be overkill for the little camera. So I settled for an old AF-I lens. The AF-I 400mm/2.8. Hey, it's a bit dated, but works perfectly.

regards,
Andy

The combination stabilizes quite well

Focus works flawless with the D40

Due to the good sensor in the D40, cropping is also an option
That's the whole picture (distance is about 60ft)

The combination stabilizes quite well...

I suspect that it would without the camera too...:biggrin::biggrin:
This must be the D40 with the biggest... lens ever!

Just joking of course.
Great combination, great lens, you gonna have lots of fun and top photos with it.
Enjoy!
