    Super shots
the eyes on 3 and 4?????
  6. If I remember the picture I posted of our man in action...he was using a Better Beamer. So is this the bird version of "redeye"?

    Good stuff Chris!
  7. Good to see these Chris. Sorry I missed that part of the weekend. Curious about the eyes in those 2 pics also.
  8. Nice job, Chris, these are nice and sharp.

I'm pretty sure Mason is right about the eye shine (having experienced it in plenty of my own shots ) .
  9. Excellent shots Chris!

It might be, Never shot one with a flash.
Owls have yellow eyes and they will turn green or red... (demon) eye:>)))
  11. Very nice, especially considering the light, or relative lack thereof that we had.

    I'm glad you liked them.

Shots 3 and 4 are of the rare voodoo witchdoctor heron. When they see photographers, their eyes roll to the back of their head, making them look white. Then they cast a spell that brings forth bad weather and crappy lighting.

The only way to catch these guys is with a flash and a better beamer. Otherwise, they look like normal herons.

Good images Chris. I wish I had made that trip out to the dam.
  14. WOW! Wonderful shots! I still can't get over how easy it was to photograph those birds from last summer! Great job there!
  15. Well done what a fun day, nice woodpecker!
