Pictures from a recent visit to the Paramount Theater in Oakland, CA.

Opened in 1931, closed in 1970 and meticulously restored in 1973.

Tours (2 hours) are run on the first and third Saturdays of the month at 10am
and costs you a mere $1.00/person.

Scotty, Dianne, Eric and Dave,

Thanks for viewing and your nice comments.

Fortunately, someone had the foresight to save the building and not
turn it into a parking lot.

As far as stabilizing the shots, because the tour group was fairly large,
I didn't want to break out the tripod. Most shots were done either
handheld, stabilized on my camera bag or stabilized with my body against
a wall. I used my 70-200 VR lens as much as possible and that helped a lot.
The other lens I used was the 12-24 DX.

After the tour was over, they let us hang around a little longer, so I had
about 10 minutes to use the tripod.

I ran most of the shots through noise reduction software in post processing.
