Great picture Frank!!

Thanks for letting me borrow your CompuTrekker. It has really helped me decide on which backpack to purchase. I almost bought the MiniTrekker. I will end up buying the Photo or CompuTrekker.

Well, I was about 25' from him using my D70 with 70-200vr + Frank's 1.7 TC.

Good to have you aboard!

Welcome Bryan....

I think I was about 30 - 35 feet away. I shot this one with the 300mm 2.8 as I recall.

Regards,

here's my GBH from an overcast day. Not as bright and shiny as you guys. Maybe we should start an osprey post?

Linking pics

Harris,

When you begin to reply or post a new thread and you want to embed a pic press the "Img" button, paste the link to the pic and then close the link by pressing the "Img" button again. This tells the server to open the link and display your picture.

Great pic by the way,

Thanks,

Patrick

image snipped, it ain't no danged GBH......
Ron

Hey, Ron, good to see you here. Now I KNOW that isn't a GBH. Before I moved up here, about 1996/1997 I think, I spent 3 days on San Miguel Island with a Nature Photographer from France, Andre Fatras and a Marine Biologist from Sea World. San Miguel is one of the largest breeding colonies of Elephant Seals. We were counting and marking the animals, and I can tell you that it is quite an experience to be painting numbers on the sides of animals this darned big  . Now I'm going to have to go back and dig up some of those images to refresh my memory.

Thanks!

Back to GBH's......

Here is what happens when you are prepared for birds to be "way over there" and you have the 1.4TC still mounted to the 500mm, and then the "way over there" becomes "right over here"....

Thanks to Harris for inviting me to this site.

Since Ron Reznick (who I have not met) posted a non-bird photo, I will try to insert one here.

This is the adult male, not a youngster like Ron's, all 8000 pounds of him.

He has not been to the dentist lately:
